FOOD CONSUMPTION
THE HIGH COST OF SCHOOLS VENDING MACHINES
Foods and Beverages Sold Outside the Schools Meals Programs shows the statistics of snack facts.
Beverage and snack companies realized decades ago the profitable benefits of getting their products sold inside the schools, despite the fact that most teachers were well aware of the fact that what a child eat has a direct effect on behavior and learning. Most schools became more and more tolerant to this as they saw there portion of the profits grow and soon the school was dependent of this form of funding coming in. The more junk food the kids purchased and consumed the more money they had for sporting and band functions. The more junk food is consumed the more it effects a childs behavior.
Here is an article where long term research has confirmed how badly behaved schoolchildren ' are more likely to suffer health problems in adulthood'
It reports that badly behaved schoolchildren are twice as likely to
suffer from anxiety, depression, teen pregnancy or to experience
divorce, as their classmates, a 40-year study has found. This fact can
be said in a much more accurate way... children who grow up having
hormonal imbalances and remain ignorant to them because the adults meant to guide them did not understand this either will face a life of
dysfunction and continual health consequences.
Also note how the UK was one of the first countries to ban artificial
dyes from being added to their foods after decades of research showed
how they themselves (no sugar) effected children's behaviors.
SCHOOLS LUNCHES:
Here is a school who learned the importance of providing nutritional lunches to its students...
An Appleton Wisconsin School program showed that by
cutting
out the junk food and soda machines and with a few lunch changes,
like including more grains, they were able to completely turn their
troubled school around with students not only getting higher grades,
having better attitudes, and in elimination of school violence, where
students and teachers started to once again enjoy the
academic learning process. To read more check here
THE SCHOOL LUNCHES: where are the fruits and vegetables coming from?
Between food imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, industrial contaminants, and other environmental influences all compiling within the food that will enter the body where it becomes unable to achieve a normal hormonal balance or provided the needed energy for balanced physical and mental functions.
One of the first symptoms to become apparent is learning dysfunctions yet this is hard to determine when it is not easily recognized when a child is not fulfilling their highest potentials.
Another symptom of imbalanced diet is weight gain. Weight gain contributes, along with additional stressful influences, to increased risk of illness and diseases.
According to the American Diabetes Association's Web site:
- Diabetes increased 13.5% from 2005-2007
- 23.6 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes...That's 8% of the population
- 17.9 million have been diagnosed with diabetes
- 5.7 million people are un aware that they have diabetes
Often diabetes goes undiagnosed because many of it symptoms are unknown
by people. Recent studies indicate that the early detection of
diabetes symptoms and treatment can decrease the chance of developing
the complications of diabetes.
Some diabetes symptoms include:
* Frequent urination
* Excessive hunger
* Unusual weight loss
* Increased fatigue
* Irritability
* Blurry vision
* Overweight
- It is estimated that 57 million people have pre-diabetes blood sugar levels
- 2 million adolescents (or 1 in 6 overweight adolescents) aged 12-19 have pre-diabetes
These numbers could be easily
and inexpensively eliminated by people turning to nature, where one of
several answers available is the spice CINNAMON! You can use it right
from your cupboard adding it to your foods, or purchase a bottle of
cinnamon tablets at most stores (best to go to a health store for
quality products). It is that simple. By the time you finish reviewing
this site you will learn of a wide variety of natural solutions to many
of today's concerning health issues that now exist in epidemic
proportions.
This is only but a few of the growing and compiling problems regarding food consumption where each have their own unique cause and effect reactions.
In the United States in 2001 the three leading causes of adolescent death were:
- 29% from diseases of the heart,
- 23% were from malignant neoplasms (cancer)
- 6.8% were from cerebrovascular disease (stroke).
It is an important time for people to step back look at the whole picture and to ask what is happening to all of these children? Learn more about the IMMUNE SYSTEM EFFECTS contaminants in the body can have.
Children's health concerns, learning disabilities, weight problems,
diabetes, depression, self mutilations, youth aggression and violence in
youth statistics continue to soar...
The 11th leading cause of total deaths that year was from teen suicides.
The incidence rates of teen suicides increased to 6.7 percent deaths
in 2003 and four years later rose to 9.4 percent in 2007, according
to the most recent figures released in September 2007 by the National
Centers for Disease Control. Suicide is now the third leading cause of death
in people between the ages of 15 and 24, following motor vehicle
accidents and homicides, and is now occuring in teens in epedemic
numbers.
